As the Emmy Award-winning TV producer, entrepreneur, fashion leader, writer and humanist, Yue-Sai Kan takes the responsibility of Honorary Chairman. People magazine called her “the most famous woman in China” and Times referred her as “Empress of the Middle Kingdom”. In 2014, the achievement of the international image of Shanghai and the promotion of Western cultural exchange was recognized by the Shanghai International Film Festival, which was awarded the honorary title of the International Ambassador.
MEIHODO International Youth Visual Media Festival in November in Fukuoka is meant for communicating and developing visual capacity of for both Chinese and Japanese young people. This festival provides a wide and fair platform for teenagers to compare and contrast the visual works under two different cultures. This event can build up a harmonious community for artists and producers in China and Japan to discuss all types of questions about visual art; also helps teenagers to explore more shooting places. It accords with the concept of globalization, achievement of the purpose of visual art—sharing and communicating with every human being. In a video message to the candidates, the Honorary Chairman Yue-Sai Kan encouraged young visual media professionals using more advanced media techniques to convey their values.
